POSCO Group supports the people in the Central region to overcome floods and storms

On November 18, 2020, at the headquarters 105A Quan Thanh, the People's Aid Coordinating Committee (under the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations) cooperated with Posco Vietnam Company and Global Care to donate USD 50,000 and 500 medical boxes prepared by POSCO Vietnam staff to support the people in the Central region to overcome the consequences of natural disasters.
At the ceremony, Mr. Yun Hoon - Representative Director of POSCO families in Vietnam shared
“Vietnam is a country when difficulties come close, its solidarity multiplies. The first thing I hope is to quickly recover the damage caused by floods and storms, the companies of POSCO Group in Vietnam will actively assist to overcome these damages.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hung, Head of the People's Aid Coordinating Committee, expressed his gratitude for the valuable support and assistance of POSCO Group to the people of central provinces of Vietnam. The valuable support of Korean businesses to Vietnam in recent years is very effective and meaningful. Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hung hopes that, in the coming time, he will continue to cooperate with Korean businesses to support people in regions with difficult circumstances of Vietnam.
Mr. Cho Kye Jin, Program Director of Global care in Vietnam, thanked the Posco Group's interest and donations, affirming that he would plan to use the donated money from Korea in the most effective way.
The amount of 50,000 USD and medical equipment is expected to be divided equally among Thua Thien Hue and Quang Nam provinces, each province is about 25,000 USD, including 100 gifts and other necessities, as well as cash donated to households and 70 gifts. A special gift is inox water tank made from POSCO materials for families with damaged water tanks.
